(An Inside Look Into What We've Learn From Past Events)

by: KELLY LEDUFF & JEFF LEDUFF

Open Eyes understands that the public is now familiar with the National Response to Active Shooters, Run, Hide, Fight. However, very few individuals understand the fundamental basics of how to Run, how to Hide, and how to Fight. Open Eyes has collected data from Nationally known Active Shooter/Shooting events, and has conducted practical simulated reenactments to gain knowledge to be incorporated into each training session.

Open Eyes will discuss Introduction to Criminology so that participants will understand what elements are required during the commission of a crime. In addition, OE will discuss How to Be a Good Witness, How to Handle Aggressive Behavior, and Survival Techniques that can be used as a last resort.

Lastly, OE will discuss Active Shooting/Shooter with participants so that they understand the difference between to two phrases and how to respond to each. Along with Run, Hide, Fight, Open Eyes will discuss how to identify the “unusual” and respond accordingly, how to identify everyday objects that can be used as safety tools, discuss evacuation procedures and understanding the difference between cover and concealment.
