David Kondrup was a 3-star Chief, third in command of the 1,260 Nassau County Sheriff’s Department, and a Leader of NY’s Finest, retiring after 20 years with the NYPD as a Lieutenant on Special Assignment in various leadership roles. He commanded City-wide (NYC) units including Emergency Generator Response and the Management of 9 million Square Feet of Space at 300 Facilities. He was the County liaison to the Office of Emergency Management, oversaw a Training Academy and has trained over 2,000 responders in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command (ICS).

David Kondrup is Board Certified in Security Management (Certified Protection Professional from ASIS International), a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI and SHRM. He has over 10 years of private sector experiences protecting companies and building solid business resiliency programs. He has a BS from NYIT and an MS from Long Island University.

Chief Kondrup has been investigating crimes and responding to emergencies for more than 35 years. He’s dealt with airplane crashes, School Safety, Hazmat incidents, hurricanes, Nor’easters, blackouts, hostage situations, bombings, terrorist attacks, IT failures, civil disorders, cyber-attacks, counter surveillance, reorganizations, plan developments, audits and corrective action plans. He co-wrote “A Blueprint for Technology: Bringing the NYPD Into the 21st Century”, worked on the implementation of new technologies for investigations, a new E-911 PSAC, and implemented numerous technologies for use in policing, schools, and private sector security.
