Gene Komondor

Gene Komondor is a partner at OneStar, a company that specializes in emergency preparedness training and exercises as well as review and revision of emergency plans for schools and other organizations. A FEMA-certified Master Exercise Practitioner, he has designed, conducted and evaluated WMD, Pandemic Influenza, Active Shooter and Continuity-of-Government Exercises for school districts, government agencies and private sector companies. Gene is the Emergency Management Coordinator for North Huntingdon Township in western Pennsylvania where he co-chairs the Safe Schools Committee for the Norwin School District. He has received Professional Certification as both a Municipal Emergency Management Staff Member and Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, and also has a Certificate in Homeland Security from the Institute for Law and Public Policy at California University of Pennsylvania. He has taught management courses in the Emergency Medicine program at the University of Pittsburgh since 2003, has served as an Instructor at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, MD and has also been a state-certified EMT Instructor. Gene holds Bachelor’s degrees in Public Administration and Human Resources Management from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.
